Q: What do you want people to take away from this film?
Ryan Coogler: In the end, I want people to go away from this film thinking about humanity. What it means to be human and how human beings should be treated. Regardless of their backgrounds, regardless of where they are from, everybody is human. They have people that love them, people that they love, and their lives matter. I want people to think about how they treat people; how they treat their family members, how they treat people they don’t know, how they treat people they might have preconceived notions of, and what they can do to improve on situations that are still affecting us in society.
